Enter NOTO’s Saturday Market Logo Design Competition and WIN!

The new NOTO Saturday Market is seeking artists and designers to participate in a logo design competition.

Design Criteria

The NOTO Saturday Market is an exciting new addition to and just steps away from the NOTO Arts District in historic North Topeka. Our vendors will consist of juried fine crafters, artisans, artists, fresh produce and plants, antiques, vintage items and heritage foods along with music and entertainment. The market will start in April 2012 and continue through November 2012, making for a festival atmosphere every Saturday for the warm season.

Even though the market is affiliated with the NOTO Arts District, the market logo should be a unique design of its own. The NOTO logo may be included in the Market logo, but is not required.

The winning logo will be used on web sites, various printed formats from business cards to posters, T-shirts and other merchandise and materials to be used for NOTO Saturday Market promotions and fund raising purposes.

The logo should be effective in both black/white and in color. By submitting the winning design, you recognize the NOTO Saturday Market will own the design and all associated rights.

Use of any copyrighted logos, fonts or slogans that require a license to reproduce will disqualify your design. Original work only.

Selection

The NOTO Saturday Market Steering Committee will select the 3 most effective designs and vote for the final selection. The decision of the board is final. The winning artist will be notified by email or telephone by March 15, 2012 or before. The winner needs to provide a hard copy of the design for display in the April 6, 2012 First Friday Art Walk announcement. The new name and logo will appear on the Saturday Market website. The winning artist will be credited for the new design on the website and the board will introduce the new logo in key media outlets.

Submit

Entry Deadline February 27, 2012

To submit your artwork please send a high resolution PDF file (1-3 concepts in color and black and white formats, at least 300 dpi) to notoarts@gmail.com with the following information:

First Name

Last Name

Address

City/State/Zip

Phone

Alternate telephone

Email address

Website URL

Artist Bio (one paragraph limit)

The winning artist will receive:

Fame and glory

$500 Honorarium

Your logo/name displayed on the Saturday Market website with a link to your website

Recognition for your donation through a media blast

Entry Deadline: February 27, 2012 for submission of one to three design concepts.

The winning entry will be on display during April’s First Friday Artwalk at the NOTO Community Arts Center located at 922 North Kansas Avenue in Topeka, Kansas on April 2, 2012 from 5-8:30 pm.

The NOTO Saturday Market in Historic North Topeka is just steps away from the popular NOTO Arts District, making for a fun-filled experience of shopping, strolling and dining. With a focus on the arts, antiques, fine crafts, flea market items and local produce, our goal is to have an area of heritage food booths which are reflective of the multi-cultural neighboring community, providing a rich cultural experience enhanced by music and entertainment.

The NOTO ARTS DISTRICT was developed as a part of Topeka’s Heartland Visioning project starting in 2009. What was once a charming historic business area of Topeka suffered major devastation with the flood of the 1950’s. The area never fully recovered. With the development of NOTO, empty buildings are now attracting local and regional visual and performing artists, antique dealers, new restaurants and the neighborhood’s collaborative NOTO Community Arts Center.

Saturday, April 7, 2012 thru November 3, 2012.
Located on the North end of Kansas Avenue, under the Memorial Bridge.

Potential market vendors are encouraged to apply to join this exciting new endeavor.
Join Us: Become a vendor!
